Family Group Travel Florida Keys

Planning a Trip Everyone Actually Enjoys

Planning family group travel to the Florida Keys sounds simple until you’re the one trying to coordinate it. Different age groups want different things — grandparents want a slower pace, teenagers want to be near the water and doing something, younger kids need naps and short travel days between stops. Add multiple families or a big extended group into the mix, and a “simple” Keys trip turns into a logistics project fast.

That’s the part of the trip most people don’t plan for, and it’s exactly where we come in. Simply Elite Travel and Tours puts together family and group trips to the Florida Keys that actually account for how different the group’s needs are, instead of booking one resort and hoping it works for everyone.

What We Handle for Your Group

Lodging that fits how your group actually splits up.

Multi-family trips rarely work well crammed into a single hotel room setup. We look at vacation rentals, connecting rooms, or resort properties with multiple unit types so grandparents, parents, and kids each get space that actually works, without three families competing for one bathroom.

Activities scheduled around your group's real pace.

Not every day needs to be packed. We build in slower mornings for groups with young kids or older travelers, and stack more active days — boat charters, snorkeling trips, key lime pie tastings in Key West — where they make sense for the group's energy level.

Group rates and coordinated bookings.

Booking five hotel rooms or two vacation homes separately usually means missing out on group pricing and dealing with five different confirmation emails. We coordinate it as one trip, which often gets better rates and definitely cuts down on the coordination headache on your end.

Best Time for Family Group Travel to the Florida Keys

Late fall through spring (November through April) is peak season for a reason — the weather is close to ideal, and humidity is lower than summer. It’s also the most expensive and most booked-up window, so if your group has any flexibility, late spring or early fall can mean the same water and weather with considerably less crowding and better pricing on lodging.

Hurricane season (June through November) doesn’t mean you should avoid the Keys entirely, but it does mean travel protection is worth discussing seriously for a group trip, given how much more is at stake financially when multiple families are involved.

We've had an amazing time on the trip! All the arrangements were perfect and seamless. The hotel & skiing were fantastic, and the village was so quaint. It was great because we could walk everywhere. We valet-parked the car and didn't touch the car the entire stay. Thank you...ready to plan the next trip!

Candi did an outstanding job before, during and after our Alaska Cruise on NCL. During the cruise there was a change of plans announced on the ship's PO system. Within minutes of the onboard announcement, Candi was texting me letting me know the details. Also, she upgraded my seats on my fIight home at no charge. Bravo! I give her my strongest recommendation.

Hey there, just wanted to share my experience with you. The Magic Of Peru trip organized by Simply Elite Travel Tours was unforgettable. For 10 days, we were immersed in beautiful landscapes and savored delicious Peruvian cuisine. We were treated warmly by everyone we came across. But the star of the trip was definitely our visit to Machu Picchu - seeing those grand views firsthand is a unique experience I wholeheartedly recommend. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable about Peruvian history and answered all our questions expertly. Candi, the tour organizer, was attentive and kept the group composed throughout. I can't recommend this enough for future trips.

Candi was very kind and patient with me from the get go of trying to plan a last minute vacation in Aug 2024. She was very reassuring during the process and the plan came together in a timely manner. My daughter and I had an amazing time and would definitely seek out Candi’s service again for further travels. Thank you, Candi!

Candi was awesome at booking our anniversary cruise! Our cabin was located in the perfect spot, near elevators, and with a great ocean view. Her attention to detail was amazing down to the pre-cruise kit that included lanyards for our sea passes. Highly recommend her for any Travel needs!

Frequently Asked Questions

For peak season (November through April), booking 4-6 months ahead gives you the best chance at group-sized lodging and better rates, since multi-room and multi-family accommodations get booked up fastest. For off-peak travel, 2-3 months usually works, but earlier is always safer for larger groups.

It depends on your group’s priorities. Key Largo works well if part of your group wants easier access back to Miami or a shorter drive overall. Islamorada and Marathon offer a quieter pace with strong water activities nearby. Key West is more activity-packed and nightlife-oriented, which can work great for groups with older teens or adults but isn’t always the best fit for very young kids. We help you weigh that against your actual group makeup.

Yes. We coordinate multi-room hotel bookings and multi-unit vacation rentals as one trip, so you get one point of contact and often better group pricing instead of piecing together five separate bookings.

Generally yes, more than people expect. The range of pace across different towns in the Keys, plus a wide mix of activities from calm shallow-water spots to boat charters, means we can usually build an itinerary that doesn’t force everyone into the same activity every day.

Hurricane season runs June through November, and while it doesn’t mean you should avoid Keys travel entirely, it’s worth taking travel protection more seriously for a group trip, simply because more people and more money are on the line if plans have to change.

Coordinating four or five families’ schedules, budgets, and lodging preferences is a real job, not just a phone call. As a CLIA, ASTA, and IATA accredited agency licensed in Florida (FL License #ST45372), we handle that coordination directly, and if something needs to change mid-trip, there’s one accountable point of contact instead of five separate confirmation emails to untangle.

Yes. Since US-1 is the only road connecting the islands and driving times run longer than they look on a map, we plan realistic travel days between stops so your group — especially with kids or older travelers — isn’t stuck in a car longer than expected.

We love to hear from you
